ROCKWOOL Comfort Liner: Integrated Soffit Insulation Systems
Brought to you by ROCKWOOL
Endowing Thermal, Condensation and Acoustic Control
ROCKWOOL Comfort Liner is designed and manufactured for concrete soffit insulation, offering necessary thermal and acoustic benefits to building occupants. In today’s modern buildings, where spaces with multiple functions are collocated, Comfort Liner’s thermal performance is recommended for the condensation control of concrete soffits where there are noticeable temperature differences between two adjacent spaces. Some examples include healthcare spaces, car parks in commercial buildings, data centres, buildings with air-conditioned server rooms or cold storage facilities.
Comfort Liner has the capability to provide acoustic insulation and noise absorption between floors to achieve the desired acoustic comfort level for different functional spaces that coexist within the same building. Comfort Liner products come in the form of slabs, which ease the soffit installation through the butting and joints. It also comes in various thicknesses to suit site installation requirements.
Features
Condensation
The soffit insulation can help to prevent condensation, thus reducing the risk of fungal and mould growth, which is a major concern for healthcare buildings.
The product is recommended for healthcare spaces, car parks in commercial buildings, data centres/server rooms, cold storages, etc.
Acoustic
The soffit insulation helps to provide a safer workplace through its noise absorption capabilities (e.g. from moving vehicles) and increases the energy efficiency for controlled ambient storage spaces.
The product is recommended for generator/machine rooms of commercial buildings, indoor spaces with vehicle movement e.g. warehouses or transportation depots, etc.
Thermal Comfort and Energy Efficiency
The soffit insulation reduces the heat transfer between adjacent floors, which is critical in ensuring the energy efficiency of 24-hour air-conditioning spaces such as data centre buildings or server rooms, regulated temperature storages, etc., and providing thermal comfort for occupants’ spaces.
The product is recommended for soffits below the floor that are exposed to sunlight, e.g. sky gardens in commercial buildings, residential condominiums or regulated temperature warehouses, data centres/server rooms, etc.
Fire Safety
With soffits as a structural element with a large surface area, the choice in insulation material can mean the difference between hazards and harmful impacts from fire and heat damage. ROCKWOOL stone wool has achieved the highest European fire classification, which is A1 according to EN 13501-1. It can also withstand temperatures exceeding 1000°C and does not contribute to smoke toxicity, which can aid in the safe escape of buildings’ occupants as well as stalling for first responders’ intervention.

General Product Information
ROCKWOOL Comfort Liner is made of basalt, a volcanic stone, which is one of the world’s most abundant natural resources. They are particularly suitable for thermal insulation, fire protection and sound reduction or absorption. ROCKWOOL Comfort Liner is inorganic and contains no nutritious substances. Therefore, it will not be attacked by microorganisms. Stone wool will not rot and does not attract vermin. No CFCs, HFCs, HCFCs, or asbestos are used in the manufacture of ROCKWOOL Comfort Liner.
