Wine bottles and carpets, two seemingly unrelated items, are now linked in pursuit of environmental protection. Water-based Finishes

Environmental awareness influences our daily thinking and lifestyle. It is no longer an afterthought but a necessity. For hardwood finishes and care products, this means using products with reduced solvent emissions, where pollutants are replaced with neutral alternatives. One way is to use waterbased finishes.

Green Roof Systems

With the increased desire for high-performance buildings and sustainable building products, green roofs are becoming a more common roofing option. Green roofs possess a host of advantages, including helping to reduce the urban heat island effect and energy consumption, improving air quality, and aiding in stormwater retention. They are also effective sound insulators and visually appealing.

Human existence and business prosperity in remote locations depend largely on the availability of clean water to people, livestock and crops. But in many parts of the world reliable power can be in just as short supply as the water. Grundfos SQFlex lends nature a helping hand by providing both water and the power needed to fuel pump systems.

Inspired by Nature

3form has come up with the innovative Varia system—a panel system made from ecoresin. Ecoresin is the only translucent, co-polyester sheet material to contain a significant amount of recycled content while maintaining core physical properties. Non-toxic, it is also GreenGuard Indoor Air Quality-certified.

Sustainable Flooring Systems

Creating healthier, more sustainable indoor environments is increasingly important and flooring choice is a key factor in helping to achieve that. Forbo’s flooring systems Marmoleum and Artoleum use the ‘green’ floor covering linoleum. Manufactured from natural and harvestable raw materials, a linoleum floor offers strength of colour, design and durability.
